As many of you will have seen the renewed interest in cycling over the past three or four years has been nothing short of phenomenal as it seems everyone, boy, girl, young and old are out on their bikes. North Tipperary is no different, and as a result, a new bike club was formed, Keeper Cycling Club. One of the main drivers in setting up the club was the fantastic success of Sarsfields Ride , last August, which was a cycle event held as part of the Killoscully and Ballinahinch gathering celebrations. There was over 100 participants in this event and it was clear from the onset that there was an appetite to set up a cycling club in the surrounding area. Both Martin Ryan & Joe Fitzgerald put their heads together and pushed towards the formation of a new cycling club. Thus on Friday 07 Feburary 2014 the Keeper Cycling Club was officially launched in Ballinahinch Community Centre, where officers and committee members were sworn in. Already in a short period of time our club has 40 members and we are also affiliated to Cycling Ireland, the governing body for cycling in Ireland. The club is targeting all ages both male and female, and it dosent matter if you are a seasoned biker or just new to the power of the pedal, all are welcome. Currently we have members from all surrounding locations and are open to all catchment areas.
