Welcome to Keeper Cycling Club
North Tipperary-based Keeper Cycling Club was officially launched on Friday, 7 February 2014, following discussions led by local cycling enthusiasts Martin Ryan and Joe Fitzgerald, who recognised that there were other keen cyclists in the parishes of Newport, Ballinahinch, Rearcross, and surrounding areas.
Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength, with approximately sixty cyclists signed up as members, and the club is affiliated to Cycling Ireland, the governing body for cycling in Ireland. We meet Sunday mornings in Ryan’s Centra in winter at 9am and in summer at 8:30am. There are 3 groups that go out (Group 1: Avg speed 30km/hr; Group 2: Avg Speed 27/28km; and Group 3 is an average of 24K). In the summer, we also run evening cycles on Wednesdays (from Dalys Cross) and Fridays (from Newport to Rearcross).
The club also organises an annual sportif in April/May and several other activities throughout the year for its members, including a time trial league, club trip away, relay races, awards nights, and much more! KCC mixes the social with fitness!
